Table Connect for iPhone - video demo launch!

Yesterday we had a short visit from a friend and he was lucky enough to be the first outsider to test our alpha firmware on the Table Connect for iPhone.

Check it out!

  2. Can't wait, watching the clock count down!!!

  3. Your clock is somewhat irregular.
    -
Each time I come back to your site,
    the countdown is at a
    HIGHER number that previously !
    -
    Is the dead-line moving ?

  4. Hm. Do I need to wait one more hour?

  5. Guys, the deadline keeps getting pushed back :(

  6. Sorry guys, the counter plugin is screwing us, we'll have the video up in a few minutes - it's currently uploading to YouTube, but they are too slow for us ;)

  7. Fake. You press the Sleep/Wake button when you "launch" the app.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I find it really good...when come it in stores and how much will it cost?

    ReplyDelete
  9. What BasiX says is true, I see you press the sleep/wake button, you don't launch the "special app". FAKE!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. if you are actually trying to create a product, why would you put out a fake video? that ruins all credibility.

  11. It's real!
    It's faaaaaake!

  13. I doubt it's fake.
Anyway, will this work on iPad or iPod?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Great Piece of work ... will be a sure hit, already started promoting :) http://techicloud.blogspot.com/2010/11/table-connect-58-inch-iphone.html

  15. Hallo Leute!
Ihr habt da ja ein SUPER Teil gebastelt.

Von wo seit ihr? (FH Hagenberg?)

  16. Haha, it is actually hillarious that this is launced as an APP rather than a table. The most interesting thing in this video is the table, not the app. But there is hardly a word about the table.

And a free blog on blogspot.com as a launch site? That table must have cost a fortune to develop, and yet you dont have the resources to pay professionals to create a decent site?

No, this is all fake. But you did a nice job at that, and you managed to get the press' attention. So thumbs up for scamming abilities :-)

  17. The Video is great, but the Images could be faked much better:

  18. @MariusW: Can't you read? Above the pictures there is written: "For now, we start with mock-ups as well. Currently, we are finishing up the work on the alpha release software for the table."

So the pictures are fake... and they told you so.

I guess it depends if one is good in photoshopping or is bright enough to develope a table like this (wich has NOTHING to do with Photoshop.)

    ReplyDelete
  19. @da: when did I ever talk about pictures?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I like the finishing of the table...is it a LCD or rear-projection projector?

    cool !

    ReplyDelete
  21. i think this isn't a fake.. he said "..at a later date we want to show it synchronized, too"
    he locks the iphone, whatever?

but i think you guys will get trouble with apple, cause of the patens ;)

    **sry im german**

    ReplyDelete
  22. How much would a table like this cost if I were going to buy one for personal use?

    ReplyDelete
  23. You guys need to make a slot in the side of the table to hide the actual iPhone after the table app has been launched. No need to have it hanging on the side like that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. This is awesome! It would also be cool if you could make one the size of an iPad and get the iPhone to run iPad apps. Then people would not have to pay so much to get an iPad if they already had an iPhone. You could just slide your iPhone in and have an iPad.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Fake as Jwoww's tits.

    1) iPhone doesnt have a real-time video output (HDMI/VGA/DVI...)
    2) A multitouch sensor that big costs thousands of dollars. You guys look like you cant afford one
    3) The multitouch controller IC would need to mimic the iPhone's exactly in order for the low level OS to accept gestures. Such an IC does not exist for a large screen.
    4) iOS does not give 3rd party applications access to such low level features. Even a jailbroken OS wouldn't work. The APIs don't exist.

    ReplyDelete
  26. it´s nice, but it´s fake... ohh, good try!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. There a wall mount option for this?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Look carefully. He presses the sleep button just with opening the app. What is this? Trying to lock it without us noticing?

When the thing starts up, it displays the last homescreen and not the lockscreen?

It is IMPOSSIBLE to get to the homescreen without passing the lockscreen.

You dont see people pressing their home button and quickly gets to the homescreen when they are on sleep, right?

And, if the iPhone isnt turned on (sleep), Veency doesnt even work. It just shows a blank black screen.

Even if Veency works, the iPhone on the table will power up and show exactly what is on the table.

    This didn't happen, did it?

    Fake. Fake. FAKE.

  29. g'day mate, this is Wilson from Hong Kong, hope my msg can reach you. We are a marketing agency and would like to check the possibility to transfer this technology here for my client.

Is it only for iPhone? How about others touch screen tablet?

    My email is wilson1.wong@cheil.com

    Good luck and take care
    Wilson

  30. You're wasting your time Wilson, this product is a scam. Sorry to burst your bubble

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi, i wanna ask how to get a capacitive multitouch surface? can i DIY or some company can customize for me?

    ReplyDelete
  32. How can it be a scam? if it is CGI fake it would cost More to do than what the screen is worth. It looks Legit. Either way they spent lots of $$$!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've been looking at the video and I too have concluded that it is a fake. Many of the points mentioned in support of this claim or kind of moot though. The best way to test it is to look specifically at the zoom-out gesture and to compare that experience with how the iphone actually works. whatever two points you touch on the picture will remain under your fingers as you pinch. In the video however, if you look closely or if you slow down the video in other video software, you can see that the points he touches floats around asynchronously from his hands as he does the gesture. It's most noticeable on the zoom-out if you watch the far-back hand. It's actually quite impressive they were able to act this out in sync as well as they were. Must have taken quite a bit of practice.

    ReplyDelete
  34. is this a demo version or it is available publically???

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm also quite skeptical when it comes to the authenticity of this product. It seems like there are no power cables for the touch screen. If this is not a hoax, can you guys post a proper video where the product can be properly verified?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I also believe it's a hoax. But how did they get it to look so good? Is it some kind of green screen "MysteryGuitarMan" stuff? The video looks awesome, even if the product is a total fabrication.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Pause the video as he's scrolling to the app on the phone then keep hitting it in quick succession to advance the video slowly and keep your eyes on those very visible smudges on the surface of the table to the upper right of the iphone...just before the table "kicks in", they vanish....right at around 16 seconds in.

Nice try though, it looks good.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow, amazing.

I would have a lot of ideas for this type of display... wow.

Hey, how about trying the same with Palm Pre?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Why don't you buy a proper website instead of using blogger?

Cmon', you can afford to buy that huge screen and yet you cant
    pay for the website?

Anyway, nice try trying to follow exactly what the video does.

    You just want attention.

    I sense a trend of FAILBR3AKS

  41. ***THIS IS FAKE PEOPLE!***

when he launches the app on the iphone, you see his pinky push the sleep button at the top. You see this at exactly 0:14 of the video… when he says "you need a dedicated app for it currently"

To add to the comments verifying this video is fake:

on an iphone, you can't pinch (zoom in or or out) with more than 2 fingers. In this video, at one point you see him having 2 fingers on each hand zooming out.

also, you CANNOT swipe through photos with more than 1 finger, or else it will just move the image within the phone's window.

  44. Of course with an open source software that works with similar phones too..

  45. Guys,

I just wanted to say well if this is real then well done, great idea, however, i dont see how far this is going to go with you just creating this to plug into an iphone. Sure you can view pictures, listen to music etc, but this needs to really be seen as a fully functioning touch screen computer with the ability to plug the iphone in. I'm just not sure people would be willing to spend thousands of dollars for something that can already do on their devices just to get it to display on a larger screen. Although the concept is cool, there has to be more than a 58" version of a iphone....
